convenient to walking the town and close to the wall. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Entrance to building not appealing. Walked up flight of stairs to access the hotel, no lift. Strong smell from firepace located in commom room.
The staff was very helpful, the room was beautiful and the location was great. When we arrived we were told we were being upgraded to the suite since it was still available. So we had a whole sitting room and private terrace which were beautiful.
Relais San Lorenzo is well located ,calm surroundings ,friendly and efficient welcome and service, with a good breakfast to set you up for the day . Spacious air conditioned bedroom ,with large comfortable bed ,with modern bathroom facilities.Parking an option - only if you have a samll car ,as you have to navigate through the narrow streets within the city walls. We would certainly return and recommend to make your visit to Lucca even more enjoyable .
Very nice hotel in the centre of Lucca! Small, but lovely rooms! Please double check the check-in times because the reception is not open the whole day. No lift, so watch your luggage. The hotel is in the second floor of an old Palazzo (means very high walls, so it feels like the third floor) Don´t expect a great breakfast buffet, but that´s Italy! Alltogether a very nice and recommandable hotel.
The hotel provided a free mini-bar in the room (with a can of soda, beer, and water), and provided free cookies and alcohol (cognac?) in the lobby, so that was a nice bonus. The room looked classy and was clean. Also, the staff was generally accommodating - for example, they happily agreed to keep our bags a few hours after we checked out, so that we could do more siteseeing.
The biggest complaint for us was that the shower drain was clogged.
The little extras like welcome drink with biscuit, free minibar, tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The ambience in the dining area is really nice and location is excellent.
The hotel staff went out of their way to meet our every need. They even stocked our fridge with breakfast items for our early morning departure. The location was great!
The lack of an elevator made carrying the suit cases up three flights of stairs difficult.
It's not a hotel - rather a classy enormous apartment and much more fun for that – with the feel of traditional, conservative Italy. Breakfast was small and formal. Drinks from the bar are free – which is a nice touch. And it is only two minutes walk from the amazing “Trattoria da Leo” (Via Tegrimi) – wonderful food at very reasonable prices.
Cosy and modern room, staff very accomodating.
This little hotel has a charme, the staff is nice and helpful, rooms are lovely.
The breakfast coluld be better, but it was OK.
Although there was no lift and we had to carry our bags up the stairs, the building was beautiful and interesting. It was lovely to stay somewhere that had a true Italian feel. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the soft furnishings were exquisite.
Having to carry our bags upstairs, although when we were leaving one of the staff assisted us.
The building and decor are very pleasant and completely different from the standard hotel chain. Location is excellent.
The hotel was very interesting. We loved the atmosphere and feel of the old house that had been redone. It was difficult to find.
A/C didn't work well and the breakfast could use some work
I liked the design of the rooms - it is a nice and cozy location/ they fit with Tuscany; cleanliness of the room and location (right in the old town center).
Improve breakfast...and the parking in way too expensive.
I loved this hotel. It was just perfect in every way. The suite of rooms was extraordinary. The personal touch given and the breakfast was excellent. I also loved the old style glamour of the hotel. I felt we were in a castle.
There is no lift and one has to climb stairs with one's luggage.
